The Difference Between Silicone Injected Wigs And Injected Skin Wigs

Recently we have received many inquiries from our website about silicon injected wigs. Clients have been interested in our silicon injected wigs and want to know more information about them. The following blog will focus on providing the information needed so that you can recommend the best wigs for your clients. We have noticed that some clients did not have full information on our silicon injected wigs are said they were not suitable for them as they lived in a hot climate and the price was too expensive. However, we want our customers to understand our products so that they can choose a hair system that suits them and meets their needs.

First let’s see the cap picture of silicon injected wig. Silicon injected wig caps are very thick; the thickness is about 25mm-30mm. The hair is injected into the silicon which provides the hair with a very natural look. This method creates the image that the hair is growing out from the scalp, no black dots, no short return hair. The cap it very thick making the wig very durable, however, the thickness doesn’t allow heat to escape easily from the scalp which isn’t good for customers who live in hot climates or summer seasons. However, customers prefer silicon injected wigs because of its natural look and durability. At first glance, clients prefer the aesthetic look of our wigs due to the realism although some are after a more breathable hair system. It all comes down to personal preference and what will suit the customer.
On the other hand, we have another similar wig called an injected skin wig that offers a great alternative. It also has injected hair and the same natural appearance. See picture below:

Injected skin wigs are made of clear poly which is much thinner than silicon. The skin thickness can be adjusted according to the density. If the wig has less density, the skin can be made much thinner. A rule of thumb to follow is that the thinner the skin base, the more realistic it becomes. Although if the wig has a greater density, the skin thickness will be made thicker making the base more dense than realistic. This has hair is also injected into the skin to give the look that the hair is growing from the scalp. Therefore there are no black dots or short return hair. The natural looking effect is same with silicon injected wigs. Small holes can be created on the injected skin wig in order for it to become breathable. This makes the wig suitable for hot climates and summer use.

The production time for Silicon injected wigs is around 3 to 4 months. This includes manufacturing the base and implementing the hair to create the entire silicon injected wig. However, the thin skin injected wig only takes around 10 weeks to produce.

The Silicon injected wigs are more expensive than injected skin wig. For example 16” long Indian hair, silicon injected wig price is $400-$500 (USD) whereas the injected skin wig is priced around $200-$300(USD). In comparison, the injected skin wig is much cheaper. Even the lifted injected skin wig costs around $300-$400 USD, the price is still cheaper than silicon injected wigs.

The injected hair methods applied to skin wigs are explained in the following section. There are two methods of injecting hair into skin, one is normal injected hair, and the other is lifted injected hair. Normal injected hair, the hair is more flat, the hair is closer to the skin cap. Lifted injected hair the hair looks like it is standing. The lifted injected hair has better effect of hair standing. If clients want to comb their hair backwards or apart their hair then lifted injected hair is recommended. If a client just combs the hair forward or has very short hair, the normal injected hair is recommended.

We hope that reading this blog has given you a better understanding about silicon injected wigs and injected skin wigs. For more information contact us at sales2@newtimeshair.com

● What hobbies and interests do you have?

I enjoy exercising. That’s a very important part of my life. I’m a super active person.

● Do you have a phobia? If you do, what is it?

No, not that I know of. I’m a very realistic person. If you mention outlandish stuff like aliens, monster in the bush, I’d be out of my mind.

● What is something you would love to do in the future?

I want to learn how to swim. I know it might sound a bit sarcastic, as I just mentioned that I enjoy doing exercise. Unfortunately, swimming hasn’t been on my list. I think I better catch up on that.

● What wig would you wear if you wore one and why?

I’d give HW1 a try. It looks natural and beautiful. Though we categorize it as a medical wig, almost any female can wear it. It’s got a lace mesh base, breathable, and flexible. You don’t need glue or tape to fix it to your head. Pretty easy, and it gives you all the long hair look a girl could want.

  • How would people in the office describe you?

At our end-of-year conference, my colleagues agreed that I’m a warm hearted, positive, and easy-going teammate. It gives me a sense of reward.

  • Do you have a phobia? If you do, what is it?

I don’t like being confined in a very small space. I believe it was due to a childhood experience. When I was six years old, I accidentally tripped and fell into a shallow well. I had to wait for two hours before I was found. Since then, I’ve found I just can’t tolerate the idea of being alone. I guess that makes me an active team player.

  • You are happiest when…

This may sound boastful, but it’s true. It’s just part of my nature to help others. When I actually see that what I did for them has helped them achieve something, it just makes me excited.

  • Which mens/womens hair system do you sell the most? Why that model?

I recomend HS25V. Oftentimes I’d introduce this model to my new clients to start with, so they can introduce this to their new clients see if hair systems are what really suit them, before they carry on with lace or mono hair systems.

  • Do you have any pet hates?

I’m a typical town girl, you know. I’m into cats and dogs. But things like snakes, all sorts of insects, and hamsters; they are not my cup of tea. So, never get them near me.

  • Which mens/womens hair system do you sell the most? Why that?

Most of my clietns are after Q6. And their clients happened to be guys who are into hair systems that are durable and natural. Q6 is a pretty good pick for them. With proper care, it should easily last 6 months.

With me personally, the best-selling hair system has been HS1. Plus, all our clients have faith in the quality of this hair system. According to their feedback, this is an easy-to-attach, easy-to-maintain hair system for both men and women.

  • Which men/womens hair system do you sell the most? Why that model?

New Australia. When it first came out in early 2023, it made me top of sales. I think most wearers like it because at the design statge, our experts considered all possible aspects people could want from a hairpiece, such as a natural look, a level of comfort, and affordablity; it’s similar to lace, but most wearers can afford.
