Introduction

Hair systems initially started off as a business idea for Jeff but they soon became a passion for him. He realized the positive impact hair systems could have on people’s lives and wanted to create a product that added value to society. Exponential growth and strong demand for hair systems have led New Times Hair to become a worldwide brand. Jeff has created a positive work environment and leads by example with his motivating and meticulous character. His day-to-day responsibilities lie in managing the operations of the company as well as dealing with the company’s strategic direction and growth. The sky is the limit for New Times Hair as far as Jeff is concerned.

Jeff spent significant time working in Shenzhen before founding New Times Hair but he couldn’t be happier back in his home province. He enjoys playing football and is right back for his team.

●   What is your favorite book?

Secret is one of my favorite books and it is certainly one of the most powerful books I’ve read. It’s a self-help book and I’ve shared it with all of the team.

●   What three items would you want if you were stuck on a desert island?

A magnifying glass, a pot to cook in and ideally a genie lamp!

●   What kind of hair system would you wear if you wore one?

The Q6 because it would give me a natural front hairline and I could wear many different hairstyles. Plus, it’s easy to attach.

Like most of our team, Vivian is from Shandong Province, and she swapped one picturesque seaside city for another when she came to Qingdao more than 15 years ago. An abundance of seafood and a good climate are very important to her! Vivian is responsible for all sales-related matters for our existing clients. She is adept at emphasizing with others so you can be sure she fully understands your situation when you deal with her. With a strong background in international trade, Vivian is also focusing on expanding the overseas business of the company. Vivian likes to relax in her free time and for her, that comes in the form of burying herself in a good book. She’s the studious type and is always looking to learn something whether that be history, poetry or something less serious, cooking. All this acquired knowledge explains why she is said to be the most intelligent person in the office!

Books are the stepping stones to human progress.

People who take things like food preparation to the extreme i.e. washing their vegetables five times before cooking!

The HS7. People seem to appreciate how light, comfy and breathable it is, not to mention natural-looking. A great choice if you have a sensitive scalp too!

●   What kind of wig would you wear if you wore one?

The HS25-V because the skin base is so thin. The thinnest we do in fact.

Wendy Li

Founder

Introduction

Wendy is one of two founding members of New Times Hair. She has accumulated over 17 years of experience in the hair system industry and brings an abundance of knowledge and expertise in the field to the company. She has become adept at emphasizing with others and putting herself in the shoes of others. New Times Hair has become like a family to her and the well-being of everyone is essential to Wendy. With her vast array of duties and responsibilities over the years, this is certainly easier to do.

Wendy’s responsibilities are now focused primarily on product research and development, production management, and process management. She has been the key figure in the product development of hair systems at New Times Hair. Wendy works closely with the management team and our larger clients to raise the profile of the company.

A lot of Wendy’s hobbies and interests revolve around sports and exercise but as with everyone finding the time is the key. She enjoys dancing and backs her ability to learn new dance moves quickly. She is also skilled at racket sports like badminton and table tennis.

●   Do you have any pet peeves/hates?

Littering

●   Do you have any nicknames?

My friends gave me one at university on account of my round, baby face and they named me after a children’s bear!

●   What kind of wig would you wear if you wore one?

A silk topper because it’s natural, light and comfortable.

Introduction

Niki is a local girl and is one of the most experienced members of our team having joined New Time Hair back in 2014. Her roles have changed over the years as the company has expanded. Initially, she was a sales rep but as the company grew her role started to incorporate a marketing position and she now manages all departments of the company. Aside from her management duties, a lot of Niki’s work revolves around working with our larger clients. Not many will know more than Niki! This includes base design as during her time at New Times Hair, Niki reckons she’s worked on over 100 unique base designs for clients!

Whilst most of Niki’s time seems to be taken up with her young sons she loves to go swimming and do yoga when she can. She hopes that in the future she’ll find more time to kick-start her yoga. She also knows all the mountain trails around the city.

●   If you were an animal which animal would you like to be?

A dolphin because I like swimming and I like the sea.

●   Do you have any phobias?

Worms!

●   Which hair system do you think you have sold

HS1. Most salon owners find that apart from its realism, their customers like the full skin base of the HS1 because it is much easier to take care of than other base designs. The HS1 also lasts long enough to satisfy their clients’ demands. People don’t seem to have a lot of complaints about this model.

●   What wig would you wear if you wore one and why?

If I was going to wear my hair up, then it would have to be a wig with a full French lace base because of the invisible nature of French lace. If I was going to wear my hair down then I’d go for a full skin base because skin is much easier to care for and maintain.

Monica’s time in the hair system industry predates New Times Hair and she is another long-serving member of the team who has seen the company expand out of one small office. Managing the sales team is her day-to-day work as she helps them find and deal with their new clients but she also works closely with the management team on the business development of the company. Monica is thankful for the personal and professional growth she has had with the company and enjoys imparting her wisdom onto the newer members of the team.

Monica is by far and away the most relaxed person in the office and nothing ever seems to annoy her! In her free time, she likes to read and travel and ideally combine the two! She last traveled to Chengdu in Sichuan province– home of the panda and spicy food – but she’d love to venture further west and visit Tibet one day. .

I get called Little Mo in the office.

●   Which superpower would you love to have?

The ability to travel back in time.

It would have to be the HS7 or the HS1.

I would wear one of our medical wigs because they’re so easy to wear.

Cathy has been in the sales industry for over nine years. She joined New Times Hair after graduating with a degree in Business and English and moving from her hometown in another part of the province. During her time at New Times Hair, she has consistently proved herself as one of the top sellers. As a manager she is now responsible for guiding members of the sales team as they deal with queries from potential clients. She really appreciates being able to speak English with people all around the world and takes great pleasure from offering her help to people in need of hair replacement systems. She is also grateful for all the friendships she has made here. Cathy is an avid reader. She also likes to climb and does yoga once a week so she is one of the more flexible members of our team! She would also like to take up dancing one day because that seems like a great way to stay in shape.

Honest. Outgoing.

●   What is on your bucket list?

I would love to travel all around the world with my husband and son and all around China with my parents.

I actually sell more customized hairpieces than stock hairpieces. I think clients like to talk with me about hairpieces and then a lot of them end up choosing a customized one.

●   What kind of wig would you wear if you wore one?

I would choose a long-haired, brown wig with body wave because it would make me more attractive!

Flora joined New Times Hair in 2015 as part of our sales team and worked to find new clients for the company. She was the first point of call for many new to New Times Hair. As the company has grown, Flora is now primarily responsible for training the new members of our sales team and assisting them with their clients and their orders. Flora feels she has gained more than just professional development at New Times Hair and is grateful for the friends she has made here. Everyone has got each other’s back and there is a lot of love around the office according to Flora! Flora enjoys reading and right now Flora has her head immersed in baby books as she has recently given birth to her first child and according to her, she has a lot to learn! She also likes traveling and would say Thailand is the best place she’s been too. Despite being from the coast in China, she loved how much clearer and more beautiful the sea is there. One day, she would love to go to Sichuan province to visit Jiuzhaigou, one of the most scenic spots of the whole country, as well as to sample the delights of its spicy cuisine.

●   What three non-essential items would you want if you were stuck on a desert island?

A quilt, a flashlight and a copy of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Hachi: A Dog’s Tale. I just find it a very touching movie about love and loyalty.

Any of the medical wigs because they are soft and comfortable.

Introduction

Vicky came to Qingdao over 10 years ago to study and she never left. Now her whole family has moved here too! She has been working in the hairpiece industry since graduation. Vicky is another one of our team who has seen the growth of the company over recent years. Her role has expanded from her initial position in sales and it now also encompasses a supervising role. She now draws on all her experience to teach and train the newer members of our sales team so that they can interact better with our customers. What Vicky really likes about working with hair systems is the pride she takes in helping people achieve their perfect look as she now understands the importance people place on looking and feeling good. She enjoys the relaxed and joking atmosphere of the office and is always more than happy to share her food with people which everyone is very grateful for!

Vicky studied French at university and was able to spend a semester in Rennes as part of her course. She would love to take her family to France one day and show them all the old architecture of the country and sights like the Eiffel Tower, especially when it is lit up at night. Vicky watches a lot of TV and films – she’s a big fan of the BBC’s Sherlock and is in awe of the way Sherlock’s mind works and his powers of observation!

I’m scared of lots of animals! And I don’t like the dark either!

●   I’m happiest when ….

My little son calls me “Mommy”.

The HS1. This model with its thin skin all-over base seems to be very popular with Europeans.

●   What kind of wig would you wear if you wore one?

I would wear one of our medical wigs, maybe the MD01, because the base is very soft. It’s also very natural thanks to its lace front and silk top and I like the Brazilian hair it has.

Rosie is the newest member of our team and what she may lack in experience, she more than makes up in her enthusiasm! She has settled in very quickly and is very much enjoying being part of the team. She’s proving a quick learner and can already tell you all you need to know about our hair systems and will be happy to assist you with your hair system and sales queries. Rosie moved to Qingdao two years ago and appreciates the beauty of the seaside city. She gets out and explores when she can as she has a good camera and enjoys photography. However, as befitting her age, she has a penchant for taking lots of selfies!

Serena was born in Linyi and moved to Qingdao after high school graduation to study in the university.

Serena is part of our sales team and works with our existing wholesale clients to help them with their orders. She’s reliable and can answer all you need to know about our hair systems. She takes great joy in helping you and your clients get their confidence back and will happily assist you with your hair system and sales queries.

She plays a few musical instruments, like piano and Guzheng and also loves reading books. Serena enjoys spending quality good time with her loved ones, family and old friends, and also loves making new friends.

● Do you have a nickname? If so, how did you get it?

I have got a nickname of nana, because my English name is Serena.

Which superpower would you like to have?

I want to be able to travel across time. I would love to go back and witness the history events, or go to the future and see what’s new.

What wig would you wear if you wore one and why?

I would love to try the MD05 series, because the MD05 hair series is so smooth and soft, I wish my hair is like that.

The thin skin-based ones, especially the HS1 model, because they are both natural to look at and easy to clean and maintain, they are very friendly to users even to those who never tried hair replacement systems before.

Cherry is one of the more positive members of our team and her friendly smile is always appreciated. She is very easy-going and is a much-valued member of New Time Hair. Cherry is a member of the sales team who looks after existing clients and will be their point of contact for their orders and all hair system-related inquiries. She is very considerate when it comes to dealing with her clients and she is very popular with them. She will ensure you make the best decisions for your customers. Cherry enjoys traveling when she can and she has visited several cities across China including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. She also enjoys watching comedy movies or any kind of feel-good movie.

A bike and a basketball because I like riding my bike and playing basketball so I can exercise to pass the time. And some kind of history book.

Zoe is part of our sales team and works with our existing wholesale clients to help them with their orders. She is very conscientious about her work and attentive in everything she does so you’ll be in safe hands with Zoe!

Zoe is from the interior of Shandong province and has been in Qingdao ever since she came here to study. Her hometown is on a plain so she appreciates the mountains and sea of Qingdao and she does a lot of walking and exploring. That said, Zoe is not a sporty person but she surprised herself greatly when she was able to haul herself up nearby Mount Tai and if you see the steps up to the aptly named South Gate to Heaven then you will know that that is some effort!

I’m afraid of the dark and I can’t sleep without the lights on or without some light, calming music playing the background.

Noa works in sales and she will ensure you find the most suitable hair systems and wigs for you or your clients. She takes great joy in helping you and your clients get their confidence back!

Noa has done a lot of traveling within China and can recommend the canal city of Suzhou for its beauty and slow, relaxing pace of life. Shanghai and Hong Kong are on her bucket list as she wants to visit Disneyland and watch the fireworks at night above those famous Disney castles.

Noa enjoys cooking and whilst she admits she’s no expert she’s always happy to learn new recipes. She could make you Kung Pao Chicken as she knows that is a very popular dish with her foreign friends.

●   Tell us something you would love to do in the future

I would love to ride in a hot-air balloon and just feel that sense of freedom as the wind takes you somewhere preferably over mountains and plains.

I’d like to be able to predict the future. I know it’s not always good to know everything but I would know what decisions to make now and I would be able to avoid making mistakes.

It must be the HS7R. It’s breathable and natural, and everyone just seems to love it.

At our end-of-year conference, my colleagues agreed that I’m a warm hearted, positive, and easy-going teammate. It gives me a sense of reward.

  • Do you have a phobia? If you do, what is it?

I don’t like being confined in a very small space. I believe it was due to a childhood experience. When I was six years old, I accidentally tripped and fell into a shallow well. I had to wait for two hours before I was found. Since then, I’ve found I just can’t tolerate the idea of being alone. I guess that makes me an active team player.

  • You are happiest when…

This may sound boastful, but it’s true. It’s just part of my nature to help others. When I actually see that what I did for them has helped them achieve something, it just makes me excited.

  • Which mens/womens hair system do you sell the most? Why that model?

I recomend HS25V. Oftentimes I’d introduce this model to my new clients to start with, so they can introduce this to their new clients see if hair systems are what really suit them, before they carry on with lace or mono hair systems.

Ivan joined Newtimes Hair in mid-2022 soon after his graduation from his master’s. As a trilingual and someone with a professional understanding of Western cultures, Ivan plays a critical role in establishing customer relations in the US and Europe. His approachable nature and a mind of precision make him an invaluable asset to the team.

I eardrop, and I hear them talking about me. I’m optimistic, proactive, and very friendly, and eager to help.

  • What is something you would love to do in the future?

I love basketball. And I’m a basketball freak. You can call me that. That’s just me. I’m looking at organizing a basketball team in the near future.

I don’t know why I share the same gene with Doraemon. I’m scared of rats. I’m a 6’3″, but I hate rats; seeing one really freaks me out.

New Australia. When it first came out in early 2023, it made me top of sales. I think most wearers like it because at the design statge, our experts considered all possible aspects people could want from a hairpiece, such as a natural look, a level of comfort, and affordablity; it’s similar to lace, but most wearers can afford.

  • Tell us an interesting fact about yourself other than your qualifications, your job.

I’m always fascinated about an exotic lifestyle. I really wish I could travel a lot, go to many different countries, and try their local gourmet food, and get in touch with the locals to actually have a feel of their culture.

  • Do you have a phobia? If you do, what is it?

I’m always afaid of heights. With any tall buildings, be it a chimney or TV tower, I look at it, and imagine I’m looking down right from the top, it will give me sweaty palms.

  • Do you have any pet hates?

Not at all. I generally love all pets. Dog, cats, guinea pigs, rabits, etc. I love them.

  • Do you have a favourite quote?

When you feel tired,it means you are walking uphill. I believe this quote as a truth that gives me a lift whenever I’m down. I believe there’s no gain without pain. Without trying, we can’t achieve anything.

  • Which men’s/women’s hair system do you sell the most? Why that model?

With me personally, the best-selling hair system has been HS1. It has what it’s required out of a good quality hair system, in terms of a natural-looking hairline, undetectable scalp, etc. Most wearers and salon owners are familiar with it. Plus, all our clients have faith in the quality of this hair system. According to their feedback, this is an easy-to-attach, easy-to-maintain hair system for both men and women.

I’m into so many things. All the popular stuff you name: Swimming, badminton, running, all for keeping me in good shape.

  • How would people in the office describe you?

They keep calling me “pretty Winni pretty brainy.” I’d take that as a compliment. I’d say I’m generally pretty fast in term of thinking and figuring out solutions. My teammates often turn to me for help, too. And It turned out that most of the time my ideas worked for them.

  • Do you have any pet hates?

I’m a typical town girl, you know. I’m into cats and dogs. But things like snakes, all sorts of insects, and hamsters; they are not my cup of tea. So, never get them near me.

Most of my clietns are after Q6. And their clients happened to be guys who are into hair systems that are durable and natural. Q6 is a pretty good pick for them. With proper care, it should easily last 6 months.

Originally from Weifang, China, known as the hometown of kites, June moved to Qingdao in search of a better work-life balance. This has been her first job ever since. ● What hobbies and interests do you have?

I enjoy exercising. That’s a very important part of my life. I’m a super active person.

● Do you have a phobia? If you do, what is it?

No, not that I know of. I’m a very realistic person. If you mention outlandish stuff like aliens, monster in the bush, I’d be out of my mind.

● What is something you would love to do in the future?

I want to learn how to swim. I know it might sound a bit sarcastic, as I just mentioned that I enjoy doing exercise. Unfortunately, swimming hasn’t been on my list. I think I better catch up on that.

● What wig would you wear if you wore one and why?

I’d give HW1 a try. It looks natural and beautiful. Though we categorize it as a medical wig, almost any female can wear it. It’s got a lace mesh base, breathable, and flexible. You don’t need glue or tape to fix it to your head. Pretty easy, and it gives you all the long hair look a girl could want.
