The method of installation depends on the type of hair extension that you are using. Some hair extensions must be installed by professional stylists, whereas systems such as clip-ins can be put in by the wearers themselves. Customers can choose either real or synthetic hair extensions, this is totally down to personal preference. Real human hair is easy to comb and can be used for perming, dying and nutrient care. To ensure an authentic-looking connection between the natural hair and the extension, the wax bonding comes in many different colors including black, purple, yellow and red. These can be matched to the root color of the client's real hair thus making sure the blend is seamless.

If your customers want to change their hair from short to long or from thin to thick, then the price of this hair will be higher. If they want to use colorful synthetic hair to switch up their look, then the price will be much lower in comparison.

Once your customers become tired of their hair extensions, the stylist can easily remove them with a special formula. When the stylist uses a specialist alkaline shampoo to wash the hair, the hair extensions will naturally come away thus making them easy to remove.

There are five types of hair extensions in terms of applying methods: nail hair extension(also known as keratin hair extension), clip in hair extensions, weft hair extensions, tape hair extensions, and braid hair extensions. Each method can last anywhere between three and six months and all use braid technology which gives a natural finished appearance.

In fact, tape hair extensions and clip in hair extensions are the two main methods commonly used in a hair salon.

Tape hair extensions work by dividing the hair into smaller groups (about 10 to 20 hairs per lock) and using a keratin-rich glue which is wiped across the hair roots. The stylist then takes the same amount of their customers’ own hair and quickly connections the hair extension to the hair root of the natural hair, about one centimeter away from the scalp. The adhesive will then solidify quickly. Once the client decides to remove the extensions, a stylist can dissolve the glue using a special wash that wipes over this joint and painlessly removes the hair.

The clip in hair extensions also work by dividing the hairs into locks and then connecting the extension to the customers’ own hair with a special clip. The hair on the top of the head will naturally hang down to cover this button. The advantage of this system is that it is easier to remove when needed.

Recently, a new type of seamless glue hair extension is being utilized, the effect is currently the best.
