Lace front is a technology that has revolutionized wigs, toppers, and hair replacement systems for both women and men. But what exactly is a “lace front,” and why do so many stylists and wearers love them? In this article, we will explore the lace front technology and how it’s applied in wigs, toppers, and hair replacement systems.

What Is a Lace Front?

What is a lace front? Simple, as its name suggests, it is a piece of lace at the front: a thin lace material attached to the front of a wig or a hair system. It is usually a piece of French or Swiss lace that’s so thin and delicate, and blends seamlessly with the wearer’s scalp when attached.

Individual synthetic fibers or human hairs are then hand-tied to the lace, and their knots are usually bleached from the underside. So that when the wig or hair system is attached, it will create an exceptionally natural-looking hairline, as if the hair is growing directly from the scalp.

For a flawless result, the front hairline must be undetectable, and even their friends can’t tell the difference. This is especially important for female clients. The front hairline must be 100% undetectable; no one in the world, including their closest pals, should be able to tell.

In terms of functionality, we primarily offer two types of lace wigs: standard human hair wigs and medical-grade wigs. Our medical wigs are CE and REACH certified to ensure all wearers enjoy a comfortable wig-wearing experience.

Men’s hair replacement systems have also benefited big time from the lace front technology. Lace toupees, hair systems, or those with a lace front grant them the most realistic hairline.

Because wherever the hairline looks natural, you will be able to pull the hair back with confidence, and many of the trendiest hairstyles will become available.

How Do You Take Care of Lace Front Pieces?

Want to keep your lace front hair systems looking fabulous and maximizing their lifespan? Here are some key tips to follow:

  1. Wash the hair regularly but not excessively, usually no more than twice a week.
  2. Clean the hair gently using products specifically designed for wigs, toppers, and hair systems.
  3. Stick to sulfate-free shampoos, conditioners, and other products, so the hair will not get dehydrated.
  4. Never heat-style the hair excessively, which will damage the lace and the hair; remember to apply heat protectant.
  5. Store the hairpiece properly when not in use; a wig stand is recommended, and keep it in a dry, sunless space.
  6. Be very careful when installing the wig or hair system; do not pull on the lace or the hair.
  7. Visit your stylist periodically for a touchup or reapplication, making sure it’s well-maintained.

Stick with the Most Natural Option

Lace front technology has indeed revolutionized wigs, toppers, and hair replacement systems for both men and women. It‘s made these hairpieces look more real on their wearers by creating the most realistic hairline. Whether you or your client wants a perfect-looking hair loss solution or a change-up of their look, an ultra-realistic-looking hairline is key to a luxurious full-head-of-hair transformation.
