How Much Does Hair System Cost and How to Save Money on Your Hair Systems

At the age of 50, 85% of men have thinning hair. Two—thirds of men are dealing with some form of hair loss by the age of 35. The market is full of expensive but disappointing solutions for male hair loss, from over-the-counter hair growth shampoos to hair transplants. Unlike other solutions, hair systems are a quick-fix way of dealing with men’s hair loss that is non-surgical and won’t break the bank.

Getting hair systems at a low cost is the key to making your business stay ahead of the competition. Yet, how much does a hair system cost in the market?

We’re answering this most popular question and how to save money on it. Read on to find out the regular hair system cost before ordering your hair system for your business.

How much does a non-surgical hair replacement cost?

The hair system cost will vary depending on the supplier you choose and the specifications of your systems. Everything from the hair type and length to your chosen base cap design will determine the cost of hair systems. Hair systems typically range from a few hundred dollars to more than a thousand dollars.

Here are the common factors that affect the cost of hair systems.

Hair Length:

Longer hair will increase the cost of the hair system. The longer the hair, the pricier the hair system.

Base Size:

Similar to hair length, the bigger the base size, the more the hair system will cost.

Hair type:

Human Hair>Synthetic Hair

European Hair>Indian Hair>Chinese Hair/Mongolian Hair

Virgin Hair>Remy Hair>Normal Hair

Base Material:

Lace>Skin>Mono

At New Times Hair, the retail price of our hair systems typically ranges from $100 to $500 with a typical hair length of 5-8” of human hair.

From there, our prices vary mainly based on different base materials. Of the three most commonly used materials, lace hair systems are generally the most expensive, skin-base hair systems fall in the middle, and monofilament hair systems are the least expensive.

Some of our best-selling systems are listed below.

Skin hair system cost: retail price start from $269

Lace hair system cost: retail price start from $340

Mono hair system cost: retail price start from $275

Man weave unit cost: retail price start from $355

Other factors like hair density, hair length, base size, ventilation methods, etc. will contribute to the cost of hair systems.

You can expect to pay an additional fee for hair systems that have extra features. Bleach knots and a lace front are two of the most common additional charges, while a haircutting service and cutting the base to size will also increase the price of your hair system.

How many hair systems does a personal wearer need per year?

The number of systems that a personal wearer goes through every year will mainly depend on the type of hair system that they choose, as the lifespan of different types of hair systems varies a lot. In general, the wearer will need to budget for at least 4 to 6 hair systems per year if they’re wearing one every day.

How long do hair systems last?

Skin Hair System

The most flexible is poly skin with the lifespan of your hair system depending specifically on the thickness of the base. A 0.03mm poly skin is the thinnest option and will last around 1 month.  At the higher end, a 0.1mm poly skin can last up to 6 months but comes with a higher price tag. The two mid-tier options include the 0.06mm and 0.08mm, which offer up to 3 and 6 months of wear respectively.

The benefit of poly skin is that it’s relatively low maintenance and easy to clean and attach.

French Lace Hair System

French lace is slightly more durable, lasting around 3-4 months.

The wearer can still take advantage of a  seamless appearance with a French lace hair system, which can blend well with the skin and hair. French lace will give the wearer an invisible hairline, while still offering a thicker and more durable alternative to a swiss lace system.

Swiss Lace Hair System

A swiss lace hair system has a typical lifespan of 1-2 months.

Swiss lace offers a transparent thin border that sits on the side of the base, but the downside of swiss lace is its fragility.

Mono Hair System

A mono hair system has the largest range for its lifespan, going anywhere from 6 months to a year. These suggest lifespans are the most the wearer can expect to get out of all types of hair systems.

However, mono hair systems are less natural and comfortable compared to lace and poly hair systems.

The base material will determine the durability and lifespan of a hair system. Generally, you’ll find that less detectable hair systems have a shorter lifespan. If your customers want a more natural look with a male hair system, they may have to compromise on durability. If your customer wants a more durable hair system, they won’t be able to take advantage of a more natural or seamless finish.

How an individual maintains and how frequently they wear the hair system will also affect the lifespan of the hair system.

How much will hair systems cost per year for individual wearers?

With male hair systems, the cost of a hair system can be very high if a wearer decides to invest in it for the long term. Personal users will need to budget at least 1000-2000 USD per year just for their hair systems, which doesn’t include the cost of installation and maintenance.

Although they are a luxury, the number of people choosing to use hair systems continues to rise. As it can change one’s look immediately and effectively.

Market growth and business profitability explain why the hair system industry is accelerating at a fast pace today, as well as why so many small business owners are choosing to start their own businesses in this industry.

How to save money on the hair system

If you are sourcing products for your business, you may find that the hair system prices vary a lot on the market. For hair business owners, you need to find the right supplier who provides competitive products at a reasonable price if you want to profit from your business.

Once you have found the perfect hair system supplier, you can bulk order items to keep the cost low. You can only take advantage of a wholesale price from your supplier if you can meet the minimum order quantity. If you are a newcomer to the hair business without stable customers, finding a supplier who allows dropship is a great way to help you stay away from the risks at the beginning of your business. Dropship means you do not have to hold stocks; thus, no initial funds are required with low risk, making the beginning of your business much easier!

● What hobbies and interests do you have?

I enjoy exercising. That’s a very important part of my life. I’m a super active person.

● Do you have a phobia? If you do, what is it?

No, not that I know of. I’m a very realistic person. If you mention outlandish stuff like aliens, monster in the bush, I’d be out of my mind.

● What is something you would love to do in the future?

I want to learn how to swim. I know it might sound a bit sarcastic, as I just mentioned that I enjoy doing exercise. Unfortunately, swimming hasn’t been on my list. I think I better catch up on that.

● What wig would you wear if you wore one and why?

I’d give HW1 a try. It looks natural and beautiful. Though we categorize it as a medical wig, almost any female can wear it. It’s got a lace mesh base, breathable, and flexible. You don’t need glue or tape to fix it to your head. Pretty easy, and it gives you all the long hair look a girl could want.

  • How would people in the office describe you?

At our end-of-year conference, my colleagues agreed that I’m a warm hearted, positive, and easy-going teammate. It gives me a sense of reward.

  • Do you have a phobia? If you do, what is it?

I don’t like being confined in a very small space. I believe it was due to a childhood experience. When I was six years old, I accidentally tripped and fell into a shallow well. I had to wait for two hours before I was found. Since then, I’ve found I just can’t tolerate the idea of being alone. I guess that makes me an active team player.

  • You are happiest when…

This may sound boastful, but it’s true. It’s just part of my nature to help others. When I actually see that what I did for them has helped them achieve something, it just makes me excited.

  • Which mens/womens hair system do you sell the most? Why that model?

I recomend HS25V. Oftentimes I’d introduce this model to my new clients to start with, so they can introduce this to their new clients see if hair systems are what really suit them, before they carry on with lace or mono hair systems.

  • Do you have any pet hates?

I’m a typical town girl, you know. I’m into cats and dogs. But things like snakes, all sorts of insects, and hamsters; they are not my cup of tea. So, never get them near me.

  • Which mens/womens hair system do you sell the most? Why that?

Most of my clietns are after Q6. And their clients happened to be guys who are into hair systems that are durable and natural. Q6 is a pretty good pick for them. With proper care, it should easily last 6 months.

  • Which men/womens hair system do you sell the most? Why that model?

New Australia. When it first came out in early 2023, it made me top of sales. I think most wearers like it because at the design statge, our experts considered all possible aspects people could want from a hairpiece, such as a natural look, a level of comfort, and affordablity; it’s similar to lace, but most wearers can afford.
